The standard profiler has electric over hydraulic controls which operates the side shift, tilt and depth control rams An electric box is supplied so these functions (+ spray jets if a water tank is supplied) can be operated from within the cab
The side shift favours the (left hand side so that when maximum left-hand
side shift is achieved the edge of the profiler drum is
inline with the outside edge of the loader's tyres. Because the drum
housing {which supports the drum} is enclosed by the side
plates and rear mounting flange milled debris is contained within the
housing, making the "AC" Profiler a safer
unit at all milling
depths
The depth range of the profiler is infinitely. variable The profiler is fitted with depth markers on the rear of the drum housing which the operator can easily see from within the cab. A lid is incorporated into the drum housing allowing easy access to the picks and for cleaning When a water tank is provided (optional extra ), a spray bar is fitted to the top of the profiler's drum housing This spray bar can be easily hinged back to allow access to the spray jets and holes. The holes are protected by an internal guard A motor guard is also fitted.
A rubber skirts in front of the housing wheels prevents debris on the uncut surface from getting under these wheels and rasing the profiler up affecting the digging depth The edge of the drum and outer picks are all hard faced to protect these areas.
On the standard milling drum the clearance between the top of the pick
and the outside of the inside is approximately 100 mm
The clearance between the outside of the drum and the inside of the
drum housing is approximately 165 mm Both traditional
profiling drum and stabilising drums are available.
The "AC" 450 mm x 150 mm profiler drum is driven by a Denison vane hydraulic
motor All other "AC" profiler drums are driven by a Volvo F12 series hydraulic
motor. All ."AC" profilers incorporate an Auburn planetary reduction gearbox. The gearbox seal area are modified and fits a duo cone seal which helps prevent
milled debris from eroding the integrity of the seal of the gearbox. An
inline filter protects the hydraulic motor from contaminants
